Beach Trip 2013- Part 1

We went to the beach a couple of weeks ago and had so much fun! We stayed for a WHOLE week. Before kids Matt and I would just stay a 3-4 days because that’s all we could handle but with our babies it was so much more fun and more to do!

The ride down there was awful. Just awful. Matt called his work at 7 that night to see what time he had to go to work or if he had to go in at all. Well, it turned out he was off so we decided to go ahead and leave after bath time. The babies were all so tired and us leaving at bedtime made us think that they would sleep the entire way, WRONG. JP and Madelynn would have slept the whole way if it weren’t for Jocelynn. She decided to sleep the first two house but the rest of the way? She decided she would scream. We pulled into a gas station and Matt ran in to heat her up some milk while I nursed Maddie to calm her down from all the screaming going on. Maddie went back into her car seat, Joc got her warm milk and we were off again. 30 minutes later she decides to start screaming again. All.the.way.there. It was so fun. NOT. But we made it and she fine once we were out of the car. We got there around 1:30 A.M. The babies were so interested with the “new” and unfamiliar place we couldn’t get them to sleep until 3! I knew that would happen though so that was expected. My little Madelynn went right to bed when we got there. After getting them to bed we hopped in the bed to catch some Z’s ourselves. What little sleep we would be able to catch anyways. Maddie woke up at 5:30 that morning so I just went ahead and got up after she ate and went back to sleep. I know most people like to sleep in on vacation but we love getting up early and enjoying every single moment we can. It was so nice to sit on the balcony with the hubs while drinking our coffee and taking in the beautiful bay view.

The babies woke up around 10. I let them sleep in because you know the rule “never wake up a sleeping baby”? Yeah, I never break that one. We put on our suits and headed out to the beach! Maddie stayed with my mom and my dad went to the beach with us.

JP sticks his hand up in there air and says “Hhheeyyy” to everything and everyone. It was so cute! If they got up close he would get shy though hah. Jocelynn got pretty tired and I rocked her to sleep.

JP just ate and played the whole time.

After that we enjoyed a yummy lunch at Pineapple Willy’s! We ordered a few appetizers so we could get some food into our hungry babies. I ordered gator bites and I wasn’t too sure if they would eat it or not but they devoured them! I also HAD to order some queso because what’s a vacation without chips and dip?

That might have been my favorite kid friendly restaurant the whole trip. Not because there were things for kids to do but service was unbelievably fast and when babies are hungry they are hungry. So it was nice being able to sit down and eat right away.

I think that might be enough for one post, right? hah! More coming up!
