DIY Halloween Footprint Canvas

I got a little “pinspired” the other day during nap time. I bought a few canvases on sell at Michaels a few weeks ago, so I had everything on hand that I needed! I love the way it turned out!

You need:

  • Canvas
  • Ribbon
  • Hot glue gun (or you could use staples)
  • Stencils or some type of cutting tool to create words (I used my silhouette)
  • mod podge
  • paint (black, orange and white or silver)

First thing is first! Paint the canvas black. After it dried I painted the edges orange to give it a little color and it matched my ribbon. Then I took paint and painted each one of the babies right foot and carefully pressed it onto the canvas. After the foot prints dry, paint black eyes onto the “ghosts”. I am not a good free hand writer at all so I actually used my silhouette to print out the names, year and “Happy Halloween” (I bought the cute Happy Halloween in the silhouette store). I just used vinyl so it would stick to the canvas. To make sure it would for years to come, I took mod podge and painted it over the vinyl. After everything was dry I super glued ribbon to the back of the canvas and… Voila!!

I’m so proud of the way it turned out and I cant wait to look back at this for years to come.
