Do you ever crave banana pudding? I DO!! You know whats funny? I hate bananas. Like really, hate them. I don’t like the texture, the taste or anything about them. So how can I love banana pudding?? I ask myself the same question all the time. I can stand the taste of the banana pudding and I just eat around the bananas when I make banana pudding. I know, I am crazy. I am here today to share with you all my maw- maws banana pudding recipe. Its been used for years and years and I am sure everyone else probably knows it this way too but I thought I would share it anyway!
- 3 lbs bananas
- 16 oz cool whip
- 8 oz sour cream
- 1 small white chocolate pudding
- 1 small banana creme pudding
- 1 small french vanilla pudding
- vanilla wafers (I used a box and a half because the cookies are my fav)
- 5 cups of milk
Start by mixing the milk and pudding mixes. Whisk for 2-3 minutes until it starts to thicken. If it doesn’t thicken just leave it alone for a little while and it will. I whisked mine for a while and it wasn’t thickening while I was whisking so I left it alone and 5 minutes later it was very thick. After it thickens up add cool whip and sour cream.
Cut bananas and put in the bottom of your bowl or trifle dish. I use a cake pan turned upside down. Sprinlkle a generous amount of cookies in the bottom with the bananas. Pour some pudding mix over those bananas and cookies. Repeat until you’re out of ingredients and pudding mix is the last layer. Make cookie or bananas or both look pretty on top and serve! Or chill until needed;) ENJOY!
