My babies are obsessed with the video “Roar” by Katy Perry, or as they say “the tiger video”. I noticed a while back Katy Perry has a tattoo on her inner upper arm.
I was curious of the meaning so I looked it up and it said this: “Anuugacchati Pravaha” which means “Go with the flow” in Sanskrit.
I love that. I think after having kids, this is something we all forget to do and its without a doubt very hard to do after having kids. Me and Matt have always been go with the flow type people but lost it, or maybe its just me that has lost it. I think there are times to be go with the flow and then times not need be. With the kids, for example, kids love structure. You cant have structure without a schedule and you cant have a schedule and be go with the flow. But it is ok to let loose every now and then or be spontaneous. If the kids don’t choose to nap that day, don’t get mad and keep trying to put them back in bed. Get them out and since they don’t want to nap go do something as a family. Maybe they’ll even nap in the car. If you and your husband just so happen to get a date night, don’t do the usual; just go with the flow, be spontaneous and enjoy your time together instead of planning the night out. We all need this every now and then. Especially me.
I feel stuck in rut lately so I try to remind myself of this daily. Especially when my babies get whiny or start fighting during the day; instead of getting mad at them I will just go with the flow by sitting down with them and playing. Or even do a fun activity; maybe even bake cupcakes. Instead of doing laundry that you can do while they sleep, sit down and go with the flow with your babies. Teach them this. I want my kids to be easy going like I always have been.
See, so going with the flow of things can brighten up anybody’s day and it comes in handy in a lot of situations. Let loose, enjoy life. Also? I might just have to get this tattoo on my wrist!
