Last week we decided to throw Maddie a small birthday party, last minute. When I say last minute, I mean it. I sent out a text message to our closest friends and family on Wednesday and told them we would have a small party for her that Saturday. Yup, judge me. Because I have totally judged those people who do that before.
We planned on taking Maddie to Chattanooga for her birthday celebration and we still are but I just really wanted her to feel special. I wanted her in the spotlight just for a few hours. You all know how the third child is; they get hand me downs, they get old toys, and yada yada. Maddie could care less but she is so special to me so we threw a very small intimate party and it was perfect. She had a blast and had everyone there who loves her so much.
Me and the girls drove to public that day to get a few things for the party and the bubble guppy birthday cake I had ordered when I decided to throw her party. Yes. I said I ordered a public cake. So simple. Maddie freaking loved it and kept saying “bubble buppy cake, my cake!” I was so glad to see her so happy.
Everyone arrived and we had pizza and chips and dip. We decided to do presents before cake because of the obvious. She got some great gifts and loved every single one of them; especially a small bouncy house that fits in their playroom from her aunt April!
CAKE TIME! The cutest thing ever was when we started singing the Happy Birthday song. Maddie grinned from ear to ear and thought it was the funniest thing everyone was singing to her. I will remember that moment forever. She blew out her candle and quickly dove into some yummy store bought cake! The twins enjoyed it too;)
After cake we all played with Maddie’s new toys and had so much fun. We even went in the backyard, started a fire, and played some backyard baseball barefooted. It was every bit of perfect in my book. All of the babies were hyped up on sugar so they got to stay up a little later with the adults and big kids. I think they kind of loved it.
I cannot believe my precious blessing who was by far the biggest surprise of my life is two. Time has flown with this one. I just cant even explain my love for her. There are no words. She is perfect. She is the devil sometimes. She is an angel. She is beautiful. She is smart. She is a hot mess. She is all mine. I love her with all of my heart and don’t know what I would do without her.
