I’m pleased to say that Madelynn’s first birthday party went fabulous! The forecast stated rain for Friday and Sunday but none on Saturday and that made me a nervous wreck. I mean, my luck is never that good. Ever. But we woke up Saturday to a beautiful day with sunshine, no wind and warmth! It was just a perfect day for her [arty and I couldn’t be more happy! I have so many pictures that I decided to split the posts up into the decor/food and then Maddie/party.
I started on the decorations back in January and have slowly been adding things ever since. It helps starting early on decorations when you have three so young because you never know when someone is going to get sick or something happens. So i was prepared just in case. Wednesday night I started cooking the food and cooked something everyday until Friday so I wouldn’t have that much to do on Saturday morning. I had her party at 11 am and I didn’t want to be running around all morning getting everything cooked and ready so it made things a lot easier.
The party menu included:
- Chicken salad croissants
- Ham and cheese croissants
- Sausage balls (I made Wednesday night and froze until Saturday morning)
- Chips and Dip
- Veggies and Ranch
- Lemonade Punch
- Chocolate covered oreos
- Funfettie Rice Krispie treats
- Rock candy
- Maddies smash cake (which was a big cupcake)!
Now lets get to the fun part.. The pictures!! We had her party in our backyard and put all of the food under a tent!
Here is the dessert table. I hung her monthly photos above this table!
Here is the food table. I found some beautiful bright colored flowers at Target and had to buy them to go with the party! I made a couple of canvases a while back and they made the perfect addition.
I went a different route for her birthday party on the high chair banner. Instead of the regular “I’m One” banner I chose to do a fabric banner which I absolutely loved and it went so well with the Sunshine theme.
For the favors I put a few goodies into brown bags and put labels on them that said “Thanks for Brightening My Day” next to flowers in our red wagon. I made a cute poster just a few nights ago for a last minute decoration and it worked perfect in front of the favors!
That about does it for the food and decorations! Hope you like because we did!
