That’s right!! Jocelynn is potty trained! Wahoo! And I will throw a “finally” in there too. This girl has rocket it. I honestly thought she was never going to want to potty train because every time she sat on the potty she would get very distracted, start crying and say “I don’t wike it peepee in the potty”. I would get her off of the potty after she would start crying hysterically. I didn’t want her to hate the potty. I think JP being trained might have made her want to start going. She will go and watch him and clap for him and then cry when I reward him with a Reese Cup and she doesn’t get one.
One night a couple of months ago we were all eating dinner. All of the kids were naked because we had just got done swimming. Jocelynn looks at me and said “momma I need to go peepee” so I took her to the potty and thought to myself she is never going to do this. Guess what? She WENT! I started clapping and jumping up and down and singing the famous song (from one of the look who’s talking movie) “Pee-pee in the potty, Jocelynn pee-peed in the potty. Hey”! She was ecstatic. I gave her a huge hug and a yummy Reese cup! That night she went and pee-peed one more time. I thought “hhmmm maybe this is leading somewhere” since she was actually starting to go.
Two weeks ago I decided to go ahead and try to potty train her. She has used both #’s in it and I thought it would be a good time for her to try. We stocked up on Reese Cups and M&m’s and started that next day. No accidents and she has done great! I do put a diaper on her during nap time because she pees a lot. All my children do. They are very well hydrated and love to drink their juice. We are going to stop giving them drinks a certain time before bedtime now to try and start teaching them the holding part of being potty trained.
We were on the go ALL weekend long. I was so nervous about her having an accident but she did tremendously well. We brought her potty seat (the one that goes on a big potty) and her little potty with us just incase. We went to a friends house on Friday night and she whispered that she needed to use #2 and I got scared because I didn’t want her to hold it because of not being home. But she went right away. This girl has amazed me and surprised me. She seems so grown now and I don’t like that one.bit! …. BUT I am so proud of my oldest;)
I can’t get over how cute little kids are in underwear. Diapers are cute but OMG to the little undies! Jocelynn got jealous JP had spider man underwear so we have been letting her wear it too and I love seeing that little hiney in boy shorts. I’m going today to get her some good panties from baby gap because she’s been wearing all of Jp’s underwear. The only girl underwear I have are those training briefs which are padded panties.
