We had an amazing Christmas break. After all, they do say its the most wonderful time of the year, right? That proved to be factual for us this Christmas and I felt so blessed.
Our Christmas festivities began with Matt’s family earlier in the week on Christmas week and ended with mine on Thursday night Christmas Eve. We had a few more to go to but Ill save that post for later, for now I want to get right to the good stuff, Christmas morning.
I was so unbelievably excited the night before I couldn’t go to sleep. I was excited to see their little faces light up, see how they reacted to the presents they got and most of all just spend time playing with toys all day and do nothing else.
A really bad thunderstorm came the night or morning of Christmas. All three kids ended up in bed with us at 4:30 am. They all went back to sleep and none saw their presents sitting in the den, thank goodness. Me and Matt got up around 5:45 and started cooking breakfast. We had get the dog to our house too. Oh, you didnt know we got a puppy? Yes, me and Matt drove to Cookeville, TN to pick it up a few weeks ago. It stayed at my moms house for a week and then with matts dad Christmas Eve. The original plan was to get it Christmas eve night after the kids went to sleep but I am glad we didn’t now since they all woke up. I finished cooking and setting things up for the kids while Matt went and got the puppy from his dads house. The kids were still asleep when he got home with her. We sat her a nice little area up in Maddie’s room and shut the door. We knew there would be an overload of excitement when they saw her, so we saved her for last.
Everyone woke up and the excitement began!!
I had this nice little setup on the dining room table. We had Pioneer woman cinnamon rolls, bacon, egg and sausage scramble and of course chocolate milk. Santa thought our table looked so festive he left Jocelynn, JP and Maddie a note on it!
They didn’t see the note at first or the food so we let them open presents immediately. I mean, why not?
Maddie got an Anna night gown, play food for her kitchen, a cash register, a baby doll, mr potato head bucket, and more!
Jocelynn got a baby doll, Elsa night gown, karaoke machine, baby doll stuff (pac-n-play, high chair and bouncy seat for baby), Diaper bag with accessories, and more!
JP got rock’em sock’em robots, blaze race track, nerf guns, spiderman costume, clothes, helicopter, and more!
After all that excitement was done, we read the santa letter and it said he left one more present in the playroom and Maddies room. The one in the playroom was a huge pop up tent they could play in and then…
They named her “Marsha”. You know, like the dalmatian, marshall, from Paw Patrol? We made a girl version of that name apparently;) She fits right in, she’s hyper, crazy and likes to relax…. sometimes. My sweet babies are over the moon with her and I am so happy! Welcome to the family Marsha Vanzant!
Christmas was truly magical and to be able to spend it with my family is a blessing. It always is but each year gets sweeter and sweeter. Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas with their families too!
