About 6 years ago, me and Matt found this amazing exotic petting zoo in Gatlinburg. Yes, we went there all by our self. We love animals and honestly it was probably one of the best parts of our trip. We both talked about how we couldn’t wait to take our kids in the future. I was so glad to hear that they were still opened! We took the babies and the pictures just say it all. It was so amazing and fun. They are little animal lovers too and this was better than Disney world to them (since Disney world would probably scare the crap out of them right now).
Maddie is very smart. She saw the goats getting up on the side so they could be fed. She decided to join in on the fun to see if she could get a little nibble or two! It was cracking me up. One person even asked “Can we feed her too?” I replied “that’s the point, I think?”. I was just kidding but I think she was just doing what the goats were and she thought it was hilarious. In the back of my mind I kept wondering when one of these goats are going to head butt her or the other way around. There are so many goats in this pen. You can feed them from the outside and you can even go inside and hold them! You are not allowed to bring the food inside the pen though because of obvious reasons.
Now off to the camel! The camels were so social and loved on you even if you didn’t have food! I think they might have been my favorites;)
JP wasn’t too fond of being held by daddy to see the camel after seeing what he did to Madelynn and Jocelynn. The girls loved it though. Like I said, I got some awesome moments on photo.
They even have a deer farm at this place! You can walk in to see the many deer and pet them! Can anyone find Maddie in the picture below?
Maddie never surprises me. I literally could not keep up with her. She wanted to play with and act like all of the animals. The girl is crazy.
Reindeer! The twins kept saying “Santa cwaus deer! Where is snata cwaus Mr. deer?”
This was a huge horse! Jocelynn and Maddie loved him too, JP not so much.
As I said before, I couldn’t keep up with miss Maddie. All of the sudden I look over and she is standing right next to this dang Emu. I screamed “BABE! He is going to peck her head!!” What do I do next? Yup, I take a picture instead of getting my child away from this bird.
Zebras, Zonkeys, reindeer, camel, goat, cows, bulls, pony’s. This place has it all.
I think Maddie really felt at home with the goats. If it were up to her daddy we would get one in a heartbeat, but mean mommy isn’t going to let that happen. Been there, done that.No fun cleaning after a goat.
We walked around to the camel a second time after purchasing some apples. JP loved him this time.
You really can’t say anything to describe these faces but priceless.
After spending hours at the petting zoo we went trout fishing! I’m sad this is the only picture I got but my battery died right after I took this picture! Matt has some great ones on his phone I need to steal. I might do a post with all the outtakes from the trip!
After fishing, we went home. We brought the fish home with us to cook but actuality didn’t end up cooking them. This is the night we decided to stay in and order pizza before riding some rides!
I told y’all in the previous post all about Saturday. We went to Ober and downtown. We went home and everyone napped (except me). We watched Alabama kick some A&M booty and then went to dinner at Alamo Steakhouse. It was delicious. This time we were a little bit more prepared for Maddie’s rants thanks to Jocelynn. She brought her backpack in that had all the toys. I looked at Matt and said “Why haven’t we thought of this before?” It kept her calm until the food arrived. We all ate and then the twins begged to go play some more on the rides. They call it “pway games”. We found an even better park that night. It had a big slide that was extremely fast. Matt and JP came off the slide they were going so fast. I need to upload that video because it is hilarious!! Saturday night we prepared to leave for Sunday!
Sunday we woke up and all got ready to make a quick stop at the Apple Barn. That’s what we have always done pre-kids so it felt right to keep that tradition. We were wrong. There are breakable things everywhere. Apples were everywhere (obviously) and Maddie decided to take a bite out of so many. Yes, I had to buy them. No, she did not end up even eating them. I think we will start a new “leaving” tradition instead of the Apple Barn. I did score me some cider before escaping.
The babies did amazing on the way home. We were shocked. 6 HOURS. Maddie napped 3 times, Jocelynn napped once and played the IPAD, and JP napped once and talked the whole way home. I was so proud of them. They made it tremendously easy on us on the way home.
I had an amazing time making these unforgettable memories. I can’t wait to go back next year!!
