Its official, I am now blogging on/from WordPress! I have been wanting to make this change for a longtime now and finally did! Also? While waiting on the changes I have gotten really behind on my blogging. My dad text me a few nights ago and said “You haven’t blogged since October 16th?!?” Yup, that is correct daddio.
First of all, we have been very busy. Between spending time with my mom, holidays, school and being sick (yet again) I feel like I haven’t had time to do anything; and when I do get the time its at night. You know what I want to do at night when I get that time? Just lay in bed. I don’t know where all of my energy has gone and why its left me. I use to have so much energy at night and would get all the things done after the kids went to bed. Oh well, maybe its meds or maybe its age; maybe just maybe ill get it back soon.
Let’s catch up while I am here.
Since the last time I blogged:
Maddie has gotten potty trained! She has done amazingly too. I did the three day method with her (you know, where you keep them naked) and she got it by the second day. We are having a few issues with her wanting to wear panties and pants. She doesn’t want to wear them at all. She thinks she should be butt ass naked to use the potty. I think it is kind of funny but it is for sure annoying when we are out and about. She will get it. She is super smart. I am just proud of her for getting something super quick that she honestly wasn’t quite ready for.
Thanksgiving was wonderful. Truly a blessing. Guess what? I didn’t get a single photo. Well, I got one photo. Its of my mom and Maddie but I didn’t get any of my other kids or me and Matt. #Winning. We celebrated Thanksgiving with my moms side of the family for the first time in 7 years. 7 years ago my Maw-maw passed away and since then the family hasn’t gotten together. I am not completely sure why. Maybe we were all just sad, maybe we all reminded each other of her, I don’t know but I wish we would have been doing it all along because I love my family so much. It was so crazy to see everyone all grown up. Me and my cousins have always been the babies at Thanksgiving and now we are all grown, sitting there drinking a beer, watching my babies entertain us all. Its so weird but awesome. I loved every single part of it. Of course, Maddie thought everyone got together to come to the “Maddie Show” because she definitely put on a show. My mom felt good that day which I was truly thankful for since she had chemo the day before. She looked beautiful and had a great time with her family. I don’t know if this will be her last Thanksgiving or not, I hope not, but if it is she had a good one surrounded by all of the people that love her so much.
Thanks to Pops and Moo-moo me and Matt were able to get a few things on Black Friday while they kept the babies. I have a couple more things to get but mostly thanks to Amazon, I am done!! It was so fun to go shopping with Matt, I haven’t shopped with him for the kids in a long time since I usually just do it online. We stopped at Applebee’s on our way home, sat and drank a few drinks, munched on a few appetizers and played couples trivia. I love hanging out with my husband.
We went to the Birmingham Zoo while pops was in town. We went the day after Thanksgiving and from now on I think that will always be the day we go. There was nobody there. It was awesome. Usually all of the animals are asleep but not this time, they were wide awake and showing us all what they were made of. By far, the best trip we’ve ever had to the Birmingham Zoo.
We were suppose to start back to school this week but JP and Jocelynn both woke up with such high fevers on Sunday night/Monday morning. I took them all in and the ped started them on antibiotics. Thank goodness. Maddie still had some fever by Wednesday of this week so we stayed out all week long. I am not mad about it, I got a lot of stuff done at the house this week that I have been wanting to get done. It might also look like Christmas threw up in our house but I wanted to go all out this year and make it even more special for my growing babies. Every year gets more and more fun. You can see the magic of Christmas through their little eyes and the sparkle they see makes you see it in a whole new light. I love it.
Our elf came this week! Did yours? He brought two more elves with him (again, thank you amazon) and the girls got to name them. We have peanut the elf from last year, Elsa the elf is Maddie’s, and Jessie the elf is Jocelynn’s. I might forget to move it some days but its all about moving it every now and then, right? And can I just keep these things out year round? You know, for good behavior? For some reason they listen to their elves a hell of a whole lot better than they listen to me.
The elves brought the babies some elf on the shelf pajamas, a few books, put marshmallows in their chocolate milk and a couple cookies and doughnuts!!
Ive got a lot more to talk about and want to catch up on but I am just going to leave it at this for now! Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving and is having a great beginning of December!!
